My general research interests are in phenomenological studies of hadron structure and quantum chromo-dynamics (QCD), with particular emphasis on parton distribution functions (PDFs) and fragmentation functions (FFs).
Essential ingredients of theoretical predictions for the present or future hadron colliders such as the large hadron collider (LHC), large hadron-electron collider (LHeC), and Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), are the detailed understanding of the quark and gluon structure of the nucleons and nuclei and also hadronization processes. These are quantified by the parton distribution functions and fragmentation functions.
In a hard-scattering collision, PDFs determine how the proton’s momentum is shared among its constituents. Likewise, FFs describe the probability density for the fragmentation of the initial-state parton with a certain momentum into the hadron with a fraction of the parton’s momentum.
